Low Fat Walnut Layer Cake

The cake is low fat and especially.


  • Self-raising Flour 250g
  • Salt some
  • Baking Powder 2 tsp
  • Margarine 100g
  • Sugar 70g
  • Almond Essence 1 tsp
  • Egg(beaten) 2 pc
  • Skimmed Milk 125ml
  • Walnuts(chopped) 55g
  • For the Filling
  • Low Fat Cheese 115g
  • Icing Sugar 25g
  • For the Topping
  • Icing Sugar 40g
  • Warm Water 2.5 tsp
  • Walnuts(halved) 58g


Step 1

Preheat oven to 160 C.

Step 2

Lightly greased and lined a 8" cake pan.

Step 3

Sift flour, salt and baking powder into a bowl.

Step 4

Cream the margarine and sugar together until light and fluffy, beat in almond essence. Add beaten eggs. Best until mix well.

Step 5

Gradually fold in flour mixture. Add milk and stir in chopped walnuts. mix well.

Step 6

Mixture spread evenly into prepared cake mold and bake for 25~35 minutes. Transfer to wire rack and let cool in pan for 15 minutes.

Step 7

Remove from pan and let cool completely. Slice cake into 3 layers.

Step 8

To Make the Filling: 1. beat the low fat cheese and icing sugar until mix well. 2. Spresd cream cheese over the cake layers. 3. Top with 3rd layer of cake and decorate with halved walnuts and icing sugar. Serve.
