Japanese Style Pork Cartilage

Tips: Rice wine or white wine can replace sake.


  • Pork Cartilage 1 lb
  • Carrot(cut into pieces) 100g
  • White Turnip(cut into pieces) 100g
  • Ginger(sliced) 30g
  • Shallot(peeled, crushed) 30g
  • Garlic(peeled, crushed) 30g
  • Oil 1 tbsp
  • Chicken Broth 500 ml
  • Water 100 ml
  • Sake 100ml


Step 1

Blanch the pork cartilage, rinse well and set aside.

Step 2

Heat 2 tbsp oil in the wok. Stir-fry ginger, shallot and garlic until fragrant. Add chicken broth, water, sake, pork cartilage, carrot and white turnip. Bring to a boil. Lower the heat and stew for 1 hour. Turn off the heat, cover with lid for 30 minutes. Serve.
