Curly Kale Dumplings

Alternative staple food.

Tips: 1. The filling should be chilled in fridge before the wrapping to minimize the watery texture.
2. Use only the leaves for the filling because kale stem is rather hard.


  • Curly Kale Leaves 150g
  • Pork(minced) 300g
  • Garlic(minced) 1 tsp
  • Dumpling Wrapper 20 pcs
  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Light Soy Sauce 1/2 tbsp
  • Egg White 1 pc
  • Cornflour 3 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Zhenjiang Vinegar some


Step 1

Rinse curly kale. Pick the leaves and discard stems. Rinse, drain and finely chop kale leaves.

Step 2

Combine minced pork, minced garlic and seasoning ingredients. Add curly kale. Mix well chill in fridge for 1/2 hour.

Step 3

Put 1 tbsp filling at the center of dumpling wrapper. Wet the inner edge of dumpling wrapper with a little water. Firmly seal the seam.

Step 4

Bring half pot of water to boil. Add salt. Add dumplings. Bring to boil. Adjust to medium heat and simmer for 9 minutes until done. Serve with Zhenjiang vinegar.
