Sweet and Sour Prawns

Ingredients

  • Prawn(shelled,deveined) 200g
  • Green Bell Pepper 30g
  • Red Bell Pepper 30g
  • Onion 20g
  • Pineapple 1 slices
  • Shallots(chopped) 1 tsp
  • Ginger(chopped) 1 tsp
  • Spring Onion 1 stalk
  • Cornstarch 1/4 cup
  • Egg Yolk 1 pc
  • Oil 500ml, 1 tbsp
  • MARINADE
  • Cornstarch 2 tsp
  • Egg White 1 tbsp
  • Salt 1/4 tsp
  • White Pepper Powder some
  • SAUCE
  • Water 4 tbsps
  • Salt 1/4 tsp
  • Sugar 2 tbsps
  • Cornstarch 1 tsp
  • Ketchup 2 tbsps
  • Vinegar 2 tbsps

Method

Step 1

Rinse and pat dry the prawns. Marinate for 30 minutes.

Step 2

Cut the green and red bell pepper into triangles. Cut pineapple into chunks. Cut the onion in wedges. Mix the sauce well. Set aside.

Step 3

Heat wok with 500ml oil. Stir beaten egg into the prawns and then coat with cornstarch. Deep-fry in oil until golden brown. Remove and drain oil.

Step 4

Heat wok with 1 tbsp oil. Saute ginger and shallot. Add the onion, green and red bell pepper. Stir in seasoning and boil until thickened. Toss in prawns. Add pineapple and sectioned spring onion. Serve.
