Braised Pork Shank with Italian-style

This sauce is very delicious.

Tips: 1. This is also ideal for braising lamb shank or beef short ribs.
2. Salt can replace chicken powder.

Ingredients

  • Pork Shank 450g
  • Celery(cut into pieces)120g
  • Carrot(cut into pieces) 120g
  • Onion(sliced) 60g
  • Potato(cut into pieces) 1 pc
  • Radish(cut into pieces) 120g
  • Tomato(cut into pieces) 2 pcs
  • Chicken Powder 1 tsp
  • Grounded Black Pepper 1 tsp
  • Oil 2 tsp
  • SEASONING
  • Garlic(minced) 1 tsp
  • Assorted Herds 1 tsp
  • Bay leaf 6 sheets
  • Tomato Sauce 200g
  • Sugar 80g

Method

Step 1

Preheat oven with 180 C about 10 minutes.

Step 2

Marinate pork shank with chicken powder and ground black pepper for half an hour. Put it in a oven and cook for 25 minutes.

Step 3

Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan. Add garlic, assorted herbs, bay leaf, celery, carrot, onion, potato, radish and tomato. Fry until fragrant. Add tomato sauce, water and sugar as seasoning. Turn to low heat and cook for another half an hour. Add the baked pork shank and cook for another 5 minutes. Serve.
