Braised Ox Tail in Tomato Sauce

Tips: When re-boil until sauce is reduced, it constant stirring to avoid ingredients from sticking to the wok.


  • Ox Tail 400g
  • Fresh Tomato 250g
  • Potato 150g
  • Carrot 100g
  • Bay Leave 3 slices
  • Celery 100g
  • Garlic(minced) 15g
  • Shallot(cut into halves) 60g
  • Beef Broth 750 ml
  • Oil 1 tbsp


Step 1

Poach ox tail. Peel and cut tomato, potato and peeled carrot into chunks. Slice celery and set aside.

Step 2

Heat the wok with 1 tbsp oil. Saute ox tail. Add minced garlic, shallot and bay leaves to stir. And add the tomato, potato, carrot and celery to stir-fry, Add beef broth and cover the wok, bring to boil in high heat, Then, switch to low heat and stew for 1.5 hour. After off power, leave it for 30 minutes. Re-boil until sauce is reduced. Serve.
