Braised Lamb Shanks

The lamb shank is tender and rich taste. The dish is match with rice.

Ingredients

  • Lamb Shanks 4 pc
  • Flour some
  • Carrot(diced) 1 pc
  • Onion(diced) 1 pc
  • Onion(diced) 1 pc
  • Celery(diced) 1 stalk
  • Garlic(chopped) 3 cloves
  • Tomato Paste 1 tbsp
  • Dried Oregano 1/4 1/4 tsp
  • Red Wine 100 ml
  • Chicken Broth 150 ml
  • Water 300 ml
  • Salt some
  • White Pepper powder some
  • Oil 1 tbsp

Method

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 190 C.

Step 2

Season the lamb shanks with salt and white pepper powder, and dredge with a thin layer of flour.

Step 3

Heat the 1 tbsp oil in the pan.Pan-fry the lamb shanks over medium-high heat until golden brown on the outside. Remove and reserve for later use.

Step 4

In the same pan, stir fry the carrot, onion, garlic and garlic until soft. Add the tomato paste and dried oregano, cook for 2 minutes, Add the red wine and reduce by half. Add the chicken broth and water, bring to the boil. The mixture set aside.

Step 5

Arrange the lamb shanks in a roasting tin and cover with the mixture. Cover tightly with aluminum foil and let braise in the oven for approximately 1.5 hours until the lamb shanks are tender. Remove from the oven and keep the lamb shanks in a warm place while preparing the sauce.

Step 6

Strain the sauce and adjust seasoning with salt and white pepper powder. Serve.
